Block Party

This may be the quietest block party within the mile radius of a college, but it was all contained on a single drying rack. I don't know why the picture is sideways - it's not that way on my computer, but I can't seem to fix it. I'm inept.

Yes, I know there are usually one hat and two mitts, but I'm wacky. Well, in all honesty, the second mitt isn't done yet. They're actually swatches for a sweater that I'm designing. The hats are from Ann Budd's fabulous book of handy patterns (seen here), and the great raspberry yarn is alpaca from here. The purple and green are Andean Treasure from knitpicks and, all in all, they are some seriously soft hats. The purple is a Christmas present and the green is for my daughter. What three year old wouldn't want to have a hat that matched Grammie's?

More later... I'm developing a lace addiction that has in no way been helped by the library kindly loaning me a Gathering of Lace and Victorian Lace Today. Dudes. I am in lurve.

Oh, what adorable hats! So cute. And oh MAN do I lurve me some VLT and AGoL. They're like coffee-table books; I can flip through them all day and jut drink in the inspiration. Whatcha gonna make, huh? I had an actual dream about making a lace sampler last night... I guess it's time to cast something on, huh?
